Azamara appointed Michelle Lardizabal as chief sales officer, North America,
The industry veteran most recently spent two years as MSC Cruises' commercial sales officer. Prior to that she held executive positions with Club Med, City Wonders and Royal Caribbean Group.

Azamara said she will lead the brand's North America sales organization.
Azamara president Carol Cabezas said that Lardizabal's experience makes her "the ideal candidate to lead Azamara's sales team as we continue to grow as an independent cruise company and continue to better serve our valued travel partners."
Royal Caribbean Group sold Azamara to private equity firm Sycamore Partners for $201 million in cash in March.
