Myleene Klass, a British musician, singer and TV personality, will be godmother of the Carnival Splendor.
Klass will christen the 4,914-passenger ship in Dover, England, on July 10.
A classically trained musician and singer, Klass has achieved success on both the pop and classical charts in the U.K. Klass is also a popular TV presenter who has hosted high-profile British TV shows and currently hosts “The Screening Room” on CNN International.
Following the naming ceremony, the Splendor will set sail for a three-day cruise to Amsterdam, returning to Dover on July 13, when it will depart the same day for an inaugural 12-day Baltic cruise.
At the conclusion of its European program, which will include a series of Mediterranean voyages, the Splendor will reposition to Fort Lauderdale for seven-day Caribbean sailings.
Following a series of 14- to 18-day South America voyages, the Splendor will begin year-round, seven-day Mexican Riviera cruises from Long Beach, Calif., on March 29.
