CLIA and the Singapore Tourism Board have inked a three-year
partnership aimed at boosting cruising to Singapore and other destinations in
Southeast Asia.
The organizations will collaborate to do travel agent
training and augment destination marketing efforts. In the first year of the
partnership, Singapore Tourism and CLIA plan to conduct travel agent training
in Indonesia, Malaysia and India.
"With the majority of cruise bookings made through
travel agents, these training sessions aim to enhance travel agents' cruise
sales skills overall and knowledge of Southeast Asia cruises, in particular,"
the organizations said in a statement.
The three-year partnership marks CLIA's first collaboration
with a national tourism organization in Asia.
