The Celebrity Ascent will make its maiden voyage Dec. 3, 2023, from Fort Lauderdale.
The ship, the fourth in Celebrity Cruises' Edge series, was originally expected to debut in early 2023.
The Ascent's first cruise will journey through the Eastern Caribbean with stops in St. Maarten, St. Thomas and Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. It will then offer roundtrip voyages from Fort Lauderdale every Sunday on seven-night, Western and Eastern Caribbean itineraries.
The addition of the Ascent will give Celebrity Cruises eight ships in the Caribbean, which collectively offer four-to 12-night itineraries.
