The French cruise line Compagnie du Ponant said it will name its newest luxury expedition ship Le Lyrial.
Due next year, it will be the fourth in a series of 10,944-gross ton ships that started with Le Boreal in 2010.
Compagnie du Ponant has designed Deck 6 on Le Lyrial to accommodate larger suites, up to 600 square feet for the owner’s suite. As a result, it will have 122 staterooms compared with 132 on Le Soleal, L’Austral and Le Boreal.
The ship’s interior design will feature shades of blue, inspired by the blue star Vega, the brightest star in the Lyra constellation in the Northern Hemisphere.
The company said it is a fitting reference for a five-star expedition specialist of the polar regions.
Le Lyrial will sail its inaugural cruise in April 2015.
