Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has set an opening date for its new waterpark at Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas: Sept. 4.
Day passes for Great Tides Waterpark will go on sale May 28, and prices will vary by season and availability. Passes will include lockers, towels, lounge chairs, food and tram service to and from the waterpark.
Guests can also reserve private cabanas for up to six, which will be near Tidal Tower, the section with the tallest waterslides. The price of a cabana includes admission to the waterpark.
The nearly six-acre park will have 19 waterslides, including mat slides, tube slides, racing slides and a four-person body slide. Other attractions will be a cliff jumping area, a children's splash zone and a dynamic river. The Breakwater Blasters water coaster slides will feature both downhill drops and uphill blasts in an inner tube.
Guests will have access to three food trucks as well as swim-up bars, including a hidden cave bar under the family slide.
NCL announced plans for the waterpark last summer but had not shared an anticipated opening date until now.
The complimentary Great Life Lagoon pool opened on the island over the winter, as did the upcharged adults-only beach, Vibe Shore Club.
NCL is completing the island's first pier, which will allow for more reliable cruise calls by eliminating the need for tender boats.
