FORT LAUDERDALE -- While Royal Caribbean International held
its traditional naming ceremony for the Harmony of the Seas and attendees heard
from cruise line executives and the ship's godmother at the AquaTheater, a
large group of agents was busy celebrating in the ship's Studio B.
A first look
Managing editor Rebecca Tobin previewed the Harmony in May. Read about the ship's features here.
Studio B, Harmony of the Seas' ice skating arena, was packed
with hundreds of CruiseWorld agents who were invited aboard to enjoy the
festivities.
The mood was celebratory from the moment agents boarded the
ship and were guided to Studio B, where they were met with Champagne, wine and
passed hors d'oeuvres.
Though the main festivities were taking place elsewhere,
Royal Caribbean broadcasted the ceremonies on a giant screen.
Agents were also treated to several live performances,
including an impressive sampling of the ship's ice-dancing production "1887."
When the ship was officially christened, the sovereign champagne
bottle smashing above the ship's pool deck, the cheering agents in Studio B were
showered with blue streamers.
