Cruise West will introduce four new itineraries in 2009, including the Galapagos Islands and its first European river cruise.
The line also is offering new itineraries in the East Indies and in Melanesia, and will reintroduce a Vietnam cruise.
The Galapagos and Danube cruises will operate on chartered vessels.
Because a very limited number of permits are available for Galapagos cruises, Cruise West will operate sailings with a ship that already has a permit, the 40-passenger Isabela II. The line will offer a 10-day tour that includes two days in Quito, Ecuador. Three 2009 departures are scheduled.
Cruise West will use the new, 148-passenger Amadeus Diamond for 11- and 12-day Danube River cruises from Vienna to Bucharest. The Amadeus Diamond will call in Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, and Croatia on four departures.
Cruise West's Spirit of Oceanus will operate an East Indies cruise from Singapore to Sydney, and a 17-day Sydney-to-Fiji cruise through Melanesia.
The line's nine small ships, none larger than 138 guests, will visit 29 countries and 165 ports around the world in 2009.
