Two big cruise lines have launched promotions that allow kids to sail free on most or all ships in their fleets for select sailings.

Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean International are launching the programs for the final month of Wave season.

In Norwegian’s version, kids 17 and under booked with two adults from March 1 through 31 are free on select sailings of any ship in Norwegian’s fleet.

Norwegian said that in addition, families can get cabin upgrades, reduced deposits and a coupon book for onboard purchases worth $300.

The kids-sail-free offer can be combined with the Ultimate Freesome alternative dining promotion on Norwegian Breakaway and Getaway.

Royal Caribbean said that its offer applies to departures from May 1 to Dec. 15, excluding cruises on Quantum and Grandeur of the Seas. Cabin upgrades and reduced deposits are part of the offer.

On select sailings, the availability of cabins with third and fourth bunk options is limited and the offer only applies while inventory lasts, Royal Caribbean said.

MSC Cruises has a permanent kids-sail-free offer that applies to children 11 and under. Children ages 12 to 17 sail at a reduced rate on MSC.
