MSC Cruises will hold the MSC World America's naming ceremony at the line's new PortMiami terminal on April 9, 2025.
A celebratory sailing will follow the naming with an overnight call at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, where the line will put on its signature evening lighthouse show and beach party.
The World America will be the line's largest ship to serve the U.S. and the first MSC ship assigned to the region powered by liquefied natural gas. The second ship of the line's World Class, the World America is designed to blend the European cruise line's design with expectations for American comfort. The ship will accommodate 5,200 passengers at double occupancy.
Starting April 12, the World America will sail alternating seven-night western and eastern Caribbean cruises in its inaugural season.
MSC has said that when its new cruise terminal in Miami opens, the facility will be the largest in North America, capable of handling up to 36,000 guests per day.
