When MSC Cruises sails Alaska for the first time this summer, it will offer regionally inspired seafood items and new beverage options.

Guests will find new seafood items in the main dining venues, including halibut tacos, Alaskan amber-battered cod and seafood chowder. Seafood will be locally sourced "where feasible and based on availability," according to the cruise line.

During scenic sailing days, there will be complimentary hot chocolate on deck and at the buffet.

The ship's bars will have a new menu of Alaska-themed items, such as the "Bring the Heat Martini," which includes hot chocolate, and the "Lox and Loaded Martini," which will have a "smoked salmon twist."

The MSC Poesia is the cruise line's first ship to sail Alaska, and its season starts in May.

It is currently undergoing upgrades at the Palumbo Malta Shipyard in Malta. New additions will include the MSC Yacht Club and the Butcher's Cut and Kaito Sushi Bar specialty dining venues.
