MSC Cruises is launching into its next ship class with an order for four 180,000-gross-ton ships and an option for two more.

The 5,400-passenger vessels will be part of the New Frontier class. The first ship will be delivered in 2030, followed by one ship a year. They will be constructed in Germany by Meyer Werft, marking the shipbuilder's first project with MSC.

Just a month ago, MSC ordered two more World-class ships, which will also be delivered beginning in 2030. They will be the seventh and eighth World vessels, built in France by Chantiers de l'Atlantique.
