Costa Cruises promoted Mario Zanetti to president of Costa Cruises, with Roberto Alberti assuming Zanetti's position as chief commercial officer.

The president role had been temporarily filled by Michael Thamm, Group CEO of Costa Group and Carnival Asia.
"The pause in our ship operations has been an opportunity to work on enhancing the Costa organization to make our company stronger, ready for the restart with renewed energy, a clear commercial strategy and a greater customer-centric approach," Thamm said in a statement.
Both Zanetti and Alberti will be based in Costa's Genoa headquarters.
Zanetti started at Costa in 1999. In 2017 he was named president of Costa Asia and became chief commercial officer last July. Alberti has been with Costa for 15 years, most recently as senior vice president and chief strategy officer for the Costa Group.
