Oceania Cruises' new ship coming in August 2027, the Oceania Sonata, will introduce two-bedroom Owner's Suites and two new suite categories: Penthouse Deluxe and Horizon.

The cruise line revealed details of the ship's six suite categories on Tuesday and plans to unveil inaugural season itineraries on Jan. 21. Sales will open Jan. 28.

The Sonata will be 33% suites, up from 25% on the Allura-class ships (Vista and Allura), said chief commercial officer Nathan Hickman.

That is one way in which the cruise line is growing ship size without increasing guest capacity. The 86,000-gross-ton ship will be 28% larger than the Allura class vessels but accommodate only 16% more guests.

The Owner's Suites, the largest suites on the Sonata, will have two bedrooms, a primary bedroom and a guest bedroom, each with its own bathroom. The primary bedroom will have a king-size bed and a marble bathroom, and the guest bedroom will be outfitted with a queen-size bed. Glass doors from the guest bedroom will lead directly to the suite's private veranda.

This will be the first Oceania ship to feature two-bedroom Owner's Suites. Each of these suites will have a wraparound veranda. There will be four of them on the aft corners of Decks 10 and 11, each measuring 2,500 square feet.

The Vista Suites on the Sonata will just be a tad larger than on the Vista class, where they range from 1,450 square feet to 1,850 square feet. There will be eight of them, measuring from 1,500 to 1,900 square feet.
Vista Suites include a living room, dining room, bar and teak veranda. The bedroom area has a wardrobe room and bathroom with a tub.

Measuring from 1,000 to 1,400 square feet, Oceania Suites will feature a king-size bed, marble bathroom and living and dining spaces. Each will have a private teak veranda. There will be 16 of these suites.

There will be 60 Horizon Suites, a new suite category, with each measuring 600-plus square feet. Each Horizon Suite will have a separate living and bedroom area and a walk-through wardrobe room. The verandas will be "oversized" and include "luxurious lounging furniture," the cruise line said.

At 488 square feet, Penthouse Deluxe Suites will be about 60 square feet larger than the Sonata's traditional Penthouse Suites. This new suite category includes a living area, floor-to-ceiling glass doors and a private veranda.

Penthouse Suites will be 426 square feet, the smallest suites on the ship. There will be 63 of them. Like the Deluxe Penthouse Suites, they will have a living area, floor-to-ceiling glass doors and a private veranda.

Correction: Sonata accommodations will be 33% suites. A previous version of this report had a lower percentage.
