FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Radisson Seven Seas Cruises will sail, and
sell, without the Radisson name.
Curtis Nelson, president and COO of parent company Carlson Cos.,
said the "Radisson" part of the brand will be phased out, leaving
it simply Seven Seas Cruises.
A spokesman for RSSC said the line has already de-emphasized the
Radisson name in its promotional material; there is no official
timetable for its name change, but the spokesman said it would
likely happen by next year.
The Radisson name "helped us with awareness," a spokesman for
the line said, "but the time has come to have a standalone
[brand]."
He added there was "maybe a slight disconnect" between business
traveler-oriented Radisson hotels and the luxury cruise line.
