Richard Branson toured New York City in a clear-sided bus,
accompanied by an entourage that helped him advertise the suitability of Virgin
Voyages for gay and lesbian cruisers and a full-ship charter of the Scarlet
Lady to LGBT-oriented Atlantis Events.
Branson's bus and traveling show made stops on June 29 at gay
bars in the Chelsea neighborhood and at the Stonewall, a landmark bar in
Greenwich Village.
He was accompanied by Atlantis president and CEO Rich
Campbell and some "very special friends" including well-known drag
performer Ginger Minj.
Virgin said Campbell's company has chartered the
2,800-passenger Scarlet Lady for a seven-night sailing departing from Miami on
May 31, 2020, with visits to Key West, Cozumel, Costa Maya and Bimini.
Campbell said Virgin Voyages was a perfect choice for his
business, citing "Virgin's long history of celebrating diversity and
inclusion combined with Virgin Voyages' innovative one-of-a-kind Rebellious
Luxe experience."
Branson, the founder of numerous businesses that carry the
Virgin name, was dressed in a tour conductor's hat, a long, sparkly
rainbow-colored vest/top coat and multi-colored athletic shoes for the
occasion.
