NEW YORK -- Small-ship luxury operator SeaDream Yacht Club will
sell its cruises through 250 authorized distributors, confirmed
Larry Pimentel, SeaDream's chief executive officer, chairman and
co-owner.
About 85% of the distributors will be travel agents and the rest
will be yacht brokers, said Pimentel.
SeaDream was formed last year by Norwegian entrepreneur Atle
Brynestad, who acquired the former Sea Goddess I and II from Cunard
Line Ltd.
One of the ships, renamed SeaDream II, currently is undergoing a
renovation at Germany's Lloyd Werft shipyard. SeaDream I is slated
for similar work in April.
SeaDream II will premiere in Miami in February, with short
sailings for incentive houses, retailers and charter clients.
Charters are expected to comprise one-half of the company's
bookings, said the spokesman.
SeaDream will train its distributors to sell the product and
work with SeaDream through the Internet.
The company's pricing system will consist of five year-round
rates separated into three accommodation categories, with
Mediterranean and Caribbean itinerary options.
Alternating Med cruises will depart Saturdays from Nice to Rome
or Barcelona; Caribbean cruises will depart from St. Thomas and
Barbados on alternating southern routes.
Brochures are scheduled to go to selected agents in January. The
company has established a Web site at www.seadreamyachtclub.com.
