Seabourn said its first of two expedition ships under
construction will be named Seabourn Venture. The ship is due to be delivered in
2021.
The name is a nod to the line's Ventures by Seabourn
program, which brings some aspects of expedition cruising to Seabourn's
existing luxury fleet.
The Seabourn Venture is scheduled to sail in the Arctic in
late summer 2021, with a full season in Antarctica to follow.
The second ship is scheduled for delivery in 2022. Both
ships will be built to PC6 polar class standards (summer/autumn operation in medium first-year ice), Seabourn said.
