Silversea Cruises will refurbish the Silver Shadow,
including the design of a new atrium.
The improvements will take place in a November 2019 drydock.
Also, the ship's La Dame restaurant, Connoisseur's Corner and the casino will
be remodeled.
The Deck 5 space currently occupied by the lobby, the
boutique shop and the casino will be redesigned as an atrium. Its centerpiece
will be the Arts Cafe. The open-plan atrium will include new boutiques and an
updated interactive guest reception area. It will serve as a social hub for the
ship, Silversea said.
La Dame will be refurbished and enlarged to accommodate 40
diners to ensure every guest on the 244-passenger ship has the chance to go at
least once each cruise.
The Connoisseur's Corner will be moved to Deck 8 (in the
space formerly occupied by the library and internet cafe), where its "complete
reimagining" will include the addition of a new outdoor smoking area. The
casino will also move to Deck 8.
The Observation Lounge on Deck 10 will be rebranded as the
Observation Library.
Silversea said the pool area will have new outdoor
furniture, refurbished teak flooring, a new canvas awning with inserted
lighting and new outdoor heaters, while the jogging track will benefit from new
teak resin.
The ship's suites and corridors will undergo a
floor-to-ceiling renovation inspired by the design and color palette of the
Silver Muse, the line's latest and largest ship.
