Tropical Storm Harvey's rains have washed out the workday at one major Houston-area travel business.

Vacations To Go, one of the largest cruise retailers in the world, was closed Monday.

"Due to Hurricane Harvey and its impact on our Houston employees and headquarters, Vacations To Go is temporarily closed. We apologize for any inconvenience!" a message on its website says.

Efforts to reach Vacations To Go executives for elaboration were unsuccessful.

Vacations To Go, which has offices at 5851 San Felipe St. in Houston, had more than 700 employees and sold more than 750,000 vacations a year when co-founder and chairman Alan Fox was interviewed in 2013 by the Winston-Salem Journal.
