Viking picks Malta as its first Med homeport for summer cruising

Viking will relaunch Mediterranean cruise with two ships operating from Malta in July.

The Viking Venus and the Viking Sea will both homeport in the capital, Valletta, and offer two different 11-day itineraries between July and early October.

The Malta & Adriatic Jewels itinerary will visit Montenegro and Croatia, calling in Kotor, Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar and Sibenik. The Malta & Greek Isles Discovery itinerary will sail to Greece, calling in Kalamata, Athens, Santorini, Rhodes and Souda Bay, before returning to Valletta.

Delivered in April, the Viking Venus is Viking's newest ocean ship and will be named in the England on May 17.

Viking will also launch cruises this spring and summer in England, Iceland and Bermuda. Its cruises are open only to full vaccinated adults. 

The company said it is actively working on developing additional itineraries in other destinations.
