Virgin Voyages' third ship, the Resilient Lady, will homeport in San Juan in winter 2022.

Being based in Puerto Rico will enable the ship to offer port-intensive itineraries to the Southern Caribbean, said John Diorio, Virgin's associate vice president of sales.

The vessel, slated for delivery in summer 2022, will offer two seven-day itineraries from San Juan, both departing at 10 p.m., which Diorio said enables passengers to tour the city and board the ship on the day they arrive.

The "Southeastern Caribbean Isles" itinerary will visit Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, Guadeloupe, Barbados, St. Lucia and Antigua. The other itinerary, "Sunsets in the Lesser Antilles," will spend two days at sea and visit Aruba, Curacao, Martinique, and St. Kitts and Nevis.

Like all Virgin Voyages sailings, Diorio said, itineraries will feature some late-night port stays, such as in Antigua and Aruba, where the ship will stay until midnight.

The Resilient Lady will cruise in Greece and the Adriatic Sea during its inaugural summer season.

Virgin's first two ships, the Scarlet Lady, which is launching U.K. sailings this summer, and the Valiant Lady, scheduled for delivery in November, will both be sailing out of Miami that winter.

The Scarlet will sail four- and five-day cruises year-round from Miami, while the Valiant will do six- and eight-day sailings from November through April. Both ships will stop at the Virgin Voyages Beach Club in Bimini.
