Chefs to strut stuff at resort

PLAYACAR -- Guests of the Royal Hideaway Resort & Spa will be able to sample dishes prepared by chefs from three member properties of the Leading Hotels of the World during select weeks in January, February and March.

The chefs will show off their skills during cooking demonstrations and food tastings.

From Jan. 19 to 25, Reed Groban, executive chef of four restaurants at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, will prepare dinners in Royal Hideaway's Spices restaurant.

Groban will complement his Southwestern-style cooking with the flavors of the Mexican Caribbean. From Feb. 3 to 9, James Staiano, chef of the New York Palace, will prepare a number of his favorite dishes in the resort's Ventanas restaurant.

From March 16 to 22, Christian Schmidt, chef of Azul at the Mandarin Oriental in Miami, will show off his Latin-Asian creations at the resort's Azia restaurant.

Inclusive rates range from $200 per person, per night, double, in a luxury room to $890 in a deluxe suite.
