LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The Walt Disney Travel Co. enhanced its
2002 Walt Disney World packages with new features related to the
15-month-long 100 Years of Magic celebration that starts Oct. 1.
Three-night and longer package rates go into effect on Jan.
1.
Bookings for 2002, including air, can be confirmed now.
The celebration is marked by parades, fireworks, new shows and
exhibits throughout the four main parks. The celebration focuses on
Walt Disney's 100th birthday.
Among new features of selected packages will be reserved parade
and fireworks viewing areas in the four parks for package clients;
themed photo frames and a CD: "Disney's Magic in the Streets Parade
Memories."
Additional inclusions or choices are souvenir pins and other 100
Years of Magic merchandise, golf club rentals, Leave a Legacy tiles
at Epcot (proof of the visit), a souvenir photo of experiencing a
thrill ride and the option to stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom
Lodge, which opened earlier this year.
The 2002 package lineup (showing land rates during value season
periods) are:
Disney's Resort Magic, three nights, from $379 per person,
double; $252 ages 10 to 17, and $206 ages 3 to 9.This plan covers a Disney hotel room; an Ultimate Park Hopper
Ticket (admission to all Disney parks, Pleasure Island nightclub
district and other entities), and a choice of one Flex Feature,
such as a trading pin, other 100 Years of Magic merchandise, a
backpack, a character sculpted clock, a character or resort
breakfast, a meal at the Official All-Star Cafe, a round of golf, a
powerboat rental and a special-interest theme park tour.
Disney's Discovery Magic, three nights, from $549 per person,
double; $429 ages 10 to 17, and $383 ages 3 to 9.This plan covers a Disney hotel room, the Ultimate Park Hopper
ticket, a trading pin and two Magical Wishes per person per
night.The "wishes" include meals, a golf lesson, golf club rental,
souvenir merchandise, health club access, admission to Cirque du
Soleil's "La Nouba" performance and dinner at a specialty
restaurant.
Disney's Deluxe Magic, three nights, from $899 per person,
double; $687 for ages 10 to 17, and $514 for ages 3 to 9.The package covers a Disney hotel; the Ultimate Park Hopper
ticket; a trading pin; all meals with tax and tip at a choice of
150 dining spots, including dinner shows; unlimited golf, fishing
and boating; theme park specialty tours; unlimited access to
Children's Activity Centers (ages 4 to 12) at selected hotels, and
other features such as the Cirque du Soleil "La Nouba" show.
Disney's Grand Plan, three nights, from $1,439 per person,
double; $916, ages 10 to 17, and $595, ages 3 to 9.Included are Disney hotel; the Ultimate Park Hopper ticket; the
Magical Moments pin; a thrill-ride souvenir photo; all meals,
including in-room dining and an upscale restaurant; light snacks
each night; unlimited golf, fishing, boating and other activities;
unlimited private golf and tennis lessons; a fireworks cruise;
Cirque du Soleil show; unlimited theme park specialty tours, and
other features.
Value season at Disney World occurs Jan. 1 to Feb. 13, Aug. 25
to Oct. 2 and Nov. 3 to Dec. 19.
Air seats can be blocked by the operator, including open- jaw
arrangements to and from different Florida cities.
