The Ferrari Driving Experience, in which
novice and experienced Ferrari owners learn to control their cars
through rigorous hands-on and classroom instruction, is coming to
Mont-Tremblant, a Canadian resort area just 90 miles north of
Montreal.
Patterned after
the program conducted at the Pilota Mugello Course outside
Florence, Italy, the two-and-a-half-day Ferrari Driving Experience
will be operated in conjunction with a luxury package offered by
the five-star Hotel Quintessence.
The package,
which carries a Ferrari-style price tag of $8,200, includes two
nights accommodations at the resort, a cocktail reception and
dinner on the arrival night and the evening following the first day
at the Mont-Tremblant motor track, breakfast and lunch on the
course for two days and all hotel and racetrack transfers.
Non-driving guests are eligible for an extra $850.
The Ferrari
program,
which usually accommodates 15
students per class, is taught by approved Ferrari driving
instructors and features a fleet of new Ferrari F450s. During the
two days of instructions, participants will learn threshold
breaking, vehicle weight transfer, managing acceleration,
maintaining a correct driving line and navigating both dry and wet
roads.
Participants must
be age 21 or older and have at least one year of driving
experience.
According to
Sabrina DAmico, events manager, the program, which is a first for
North America, already has filled about 60% of its 165 open slots
for this summer. And that is, remarkably, in less than a month of
their being available, she said.
Two of the
scheduled dates are already sold out. The opening session is set
for June 14. The final session begins on Sept. 25.
DAmico added that
although the program currently is only eligible to Ferrari owners,
there is the expectation that we will eventually open the program
to other car owners.
