Charles Lindo was
appointed deputy director of tourism for the St. Eustatius (Statia)
Tourism Development Foundation.
The post is a new
one; Lindo's responsibilities include technical support in the
areas of management and training; implementation of training and
educational programs; and serving as a liaison with the island's
hospitality sector.
"If tourism in St.
Eustatius is to be successful, we must work on building the
capacity of workers in the tourism/hospitality sector," Lindo said.
"We also must be prepared to offer a quality tourism
product."
Lindo previously
worked in the hospitality sectors in St. Maarten, Aruba, Curacao
and California.
