SAN JUAN -- Wine afficionados and culinary mavens are invited to
wine and dine Puerto Rico-style at the 11th annual Celebration of
Vintage Hospitality Nov. 9 to 18.
Visitors can select specific events to attend during the
celebration.Ticket prices are commissionable at 12%.
Wyndham El San Juan Hotel & Casino is offering special rates
during the event. Rates at El San Juan start at $164 per room, per
night, double, plus tax.
A sampling of culinary evenings includes:
Oriental Group Wine and Food Festival in historic Cuartel de
Ballaja, a former garrison for Spanish troops during colonial
times.This event launches Puerto Rico's Christmas season and features
live entertainment by the island's Pops Orchestra along with its
top chefs, restaurants and coffee and rum producers; Date: Nov. 10.
Fee: $50.
Grand Tasting, in which a panel of experts taste, critique and
comment on a collection of wines; Date: Nov. 15. Fee: $200.All-Star Chefs' five-course, black-tie dinner and auction in
the Grand Hall of the Puerto Rico Museum of Art; Date: Nov. 17.
