Eurail added Great Britain, Lithuania and Macedonia to the 2019 Eurail Global Pass and has lowered the price of the pass by as much as 37% this year while also introducing a 10% discount for seniors.

The addition of the three new destinations brings the number of countries under its umbrella to 31.

Travelers also can take advantage of greater flexibility in how they use the pass, as long as they begin travel within 11 months of purchase. The new system enables users to travel to multiple countries on a single pass, and a new three-day Eurail Global Pass allows for shorter itineraries within one month.

One Country Passes are now available for three, four, five, six and eight days in one month, and new Eurail Lithuania Passes and Eurail Macedonia Passes also are available.

Looking ahead, Rail Europe is selling tickets on Thalys' new direct routes between France and the Netherlands for travel starting in April and expects to be selling the Switzerland Berner Oberland Pass by March.
