Rox Resort, a coastal destination in Koge, 30 minutes from Copenhagen, is poised to open Nov. 1.

Developed by Swedish hospitality group ESS, the 154-room resort features interiors by Spik Studios with dark woods, mirrored accents and East-meets-West design elements that combine Danish minimalism with the look of Hong Kong in the 1930s.

Highlights include two restaurants — R.F. Smith's The Dirty Sichuan and The Dumpling Bar — five bars, three heated rooftop pools, a full-service spa and wellness facilities and three rooftop pools.

Off-property excursions tailored by the Rox concierge team can include visits to the Viking Ship Museum, the Forest Tower and the Koge Mini Village as well as to local microbreweries.

Founded in Sweden, ESS Group's portfolio includes Fyri Resort in Hemsedal, Jacy'z and Pigalle in Gothenburg, MJ's in Malmo, Ellery Beach House and Steam Hotel in Stockholm, Ystad Saltsjobad, Falkenberg Strandbad, Marienlyst Strandhotel in Denmark and the forthcoming Maryhill Estate in Skane.

Room rates are from about $615 per room, per night.
