The Chedi Andermatt, a year-round mountain resort in the Swiss Alps, opened Dec. 20 in time for the 2013-2014 ski season.
The 104-room property features two restaurants, a wine and cigar bar, a pool and a 7,874-square-foot Spa and health club. Part of a development that will add some 70 miles of ski terrain by 2016, the hotel is located about 90 minutes by car from Zurich and two hours from Milan.
Rates start at about $717 per room, including breakfast. An Explore In Style package, including four nights in a deluxe suite with breakfast, ski passes for two, a private guided tour of the valley and a four-course dinner at The Restaurant, is priced at about $3,800, double, through April 21. The special also includes a bottle of Taittinger champagne, complimentary access to the spa and wellness centre and a 60-minute Alpienne Mountain massage.
