Work on a three-month, multimillion-dollar renovation to 495 guestrooms at the Fairmont Orchid on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii finished up Dec. 20, marking the completion of the largest guestroom refurbishment at the property since 1990.
Carpets, drapes, artwork, headboards, sofas, chairs, lamps and desks were all replaced in the rooms, along with upgraded lighting, mirrors and marble enhancements in each of the bathrooms, while the property’s 54 suites now feature new sleeper sectionals, coffee tables and dining areas.
Renovations to the Fairmont Orchid’s 32,000-square-foot indoor meetings space also wrapped up last month, including new chairs and carpeting in the hotel’s 138-seat Lehua Theatre.
According to a hotel spokesperson, the remaining 45 guestrooms on the property’s Gold Floor are scheduled to receive significant renovation this year.
