A new restaurant experience is coming to Hawaii's Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort and Spa with the Ocean House by Roy Yamaguchi opening in June.

"The ocean has always been central to how we think about hospitality," Jeff Wagoner, CEO of Outrigger Resorts & Hotels, said in a news release. "With chef Roy at the helm, Ocean House becomes something truly special -- a dining experience shaped by one of Hawaii's most celebrated culinary voices, in a setting that reflects everything we value about this place."

Along with executive chef Samual Taganeca, Yamaguchi is "building relationships with local farms and fishermen across the island, ensuring that every plate tells an authentic story," the news release said. The restaurant is expected to serve breakfast and dinner, and signature dishes include the Kauai bag and boil (Kauai shrimp, fresh daily catch, clams and Portuguese sausage), noodle dishes, sushi and sashimi.

"Great cuisine tells a story of place -- and here, that story is Kauai," Yamaguchi said. "Our cooking is layered, built on depth of flavor and rooted in what this island gives us. Every dish is a vibrant expression of where we are -- wavelengths of flavor that connect the plate to the place."
