Agency affiliation: hosts

Home-based advisors are much more likely to use a host agency than a traditional retail agency.

Use of a host agency is more prevalent among low-volume advisors: 76% of agents with revenue under $100,000 use a host, while 58% of advisors with revenue over $500,000 are affiliated.

The primary reason independent, home-based advisors use a host agency, cited by 84% of respondents, is the access to preferred providers. Booking travel as a primary reason given for using a host agency has declined from 76% two years ago to 67% one year ago and is now at 65%.
