Comparing personal travel agency income, traditional advisors make far
more than home-based ones. Fully 41% of independent, home-based agents
earn less than $25,000 while 22% of traditional advisors and only 15% of
home-based agents make more than $100,000.
Bookings by independent, home-based agencies and traditional agencies in 2018 were mostly unchanged compared with 2017, with the exception of a larger number in the under-$1 million category. Looking at a decade of independent, home-based agency revenue by median, the midpoint of the distribution where half the results are above and half are below, home-based advisors' revenue has grown by about $100,000.
