Agency consortium membership

Seventy-seven percent of travel agencies belong to a consortium, with Travel Leaders Network being the most popular by far, with 29% of agencies citing membership. The consortium is especially popular among independent, home-based agencies (32%). The next most popular consortium overall is Virtuoso (11%). It is the most popular among traditional agencies earning more than $10 million annually; 20% of those agencies count themselves as members. The Signature Travel Network is second among the highest-earning traditional agencies (18%). A full 21% of agencies, especially top-earning traditional ones, cited membership in consortia not included in the survey. Nearly one-third of the low-volume home-based agencies do not belong to any consortium, and 28% of the lowest-earning traditional agencies also do not affiliate with any group.
