About two out of every three independent home-based agencies are connected to a host agency. That number is highest among the lowest-earning agents (72%) but still high across the board (69%).
Among those home-based agencies that use a host agency, almost 90% cite access to preferred suppliers as a main reason to use a host. Three out of four say it's for booking travel, while 62% use a host for accounting or marketing services. That last reason is much higher among agencies with annual revenue of between $100,000 and $500,000.
Access to lead generation was selected by only 22% of respondents, but was also higher (28%) for midsize independent home-based agencies.
