Hilton Spa Club offers hotel spa membership

Nothing says luxury quite like a day in a hotel spa.

And Hilton Hotels is making easier for spa lovers to enjoy that treat at home and on the road.

The hotel company, whose portfolio includes luxury brands like Waldorf Astoria and Conrad, announced a new global spa membership program, the Spa Club, that it bills as the first of its kind for the industry.

The club offers memberships that include one massage or facial each month at a minimum discount of 30%, with full access to the hotel’s fitness and spa facilities on the day of treatment.

Members also get free parking and other property perks, as well as a minimum of a 5% discount on any treatment, any time, at other spa locations.

The program comes at a time when hotels are increasingly catering to locals as well as guests with monthly and day passes to the hotels' wellness programs, fitness centers, pools and other amenities.

Hilton’s program is unique, as it offers discounts at participating hotels and resorts around the globe

And it’s a win not just for members, but also for the hotels, by helping bring in business during slower times. Overall, Hilton says, spa treatment utilization is at approximately 40% for the entire spa industry.

“We’re proud to be the first in the industry to offer a flexible, affordable program in response to profound recent cultural interest towards healthier, more balanced living,” said Ryan Crabbe, senior director of global wellness for Hilton Worldwide.

The company said the strong demand for wellness was made clear at Hilton Short Hills in northern New Jersey, which has had a similar membership offering for about three years.

Hilton said it will roll out the program in about 30 hotels before the end of the year.

The exact cost varies by property. When a member commits to a 12-month membership, the monthly cost is at least 30% off the spa’s 50- and 60-minute massage or facial’s published price.

The company said The Spa Club pricing is designed to compete with local Day Spas and other membership programs, but it offers the additional advantage of a real spa environment, seasoned staff and a host of additional discounts and benefits to enjoy in the spa and at the hotel.

This article has been updated to reflect that weekday spa treatment utilization is at about 40% for the entire spa industry, not just at Hilton hotels as an earlier version of the article noted.
