Hilton Worldwide will debut its Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand in Puerto Vallarta with the opening of a 259-room property in the second quarter of 2012, under a franchise agreement with Grupo Hotelero Santa Fe.

The all-inclusive Hilton Puerto Vallarta will be Hilton's first property in the Pacific coast city and its sixth Hilton Hotels & Resorts property in Mexico, joining two in Mexico City and hotels in Los Cabos, Guadalajara and Villahermosa.

One of those properties, the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort, is, like the Hilton Puerto Vallarta, a Hilton Resorts-branded property. Hilton Resorts is a collection of resorts within the Hilton Hotels & Resorts portfolio of 70-plus properties across 26 countries, including nine in the Caribbean, seven in South America and four in Central America.

Hilton Worldwide currently has a portfolio of more than 20 hotels and resorts in Mexico under different brands, with eight more under development.

"Latin America remains a key development market for us as our brand continues its rapid global growth," said Dave Horton, global head of Hilton Hotels & Resorts.

"The Hilton Puerto Vallarta will be a much anticipated addition to this leisure travel market," he said.

The Hilton Puerto Vallarta will be located near the cruise ship terminal, two shopping centers and the city's Malecon seaside boulevard. The resort will feature five restaurants, a fitness center, a spa, a pool and an Adventure Club entertainment area catering to all age groups.

Business travelers will have access to three meetings rooms, a business center and a convention facility seating up to 600.

Room categories will range from luxury guestrooms to executive and honeymoon suites with contemporary decor and high-end amenities.

The Puerto Vallarta property joins other Hilton all-inclusives across the globe, including the Hilton Papagayo Resort & Spa in Costa Rica, the Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa in Jamaica and several others in Turkey and Egypt.
