The Playacar Palace, Palace Resorts’ Playa del Carmen property (www.palaceresorts.com), has launched a sensory dining offering, Frida Kahlo by Alquimia, combining cuisine with an audiovisual spectacle using a variety of cooking techniques, including liquid nitrogen, low-temperature cooking and a vacuum coffeemaker. Stimulating the five senses over the course of a two-hour dinner, the meal is enhanced with music ranging from classical to traditional Mexican to produce a gastronomical and cultural experience for up to 10 guests.

Created by executive chef Oscar Dominguez, Frida Kahlo by Alquimia is priced at $200 and offers 11 courses inspired by the celebrated Mexican painter. Flavor contrasts such as fiery chili with honeyed flan and venison with sharp orange zest paired with Champagne and mezcal are just a few menu highlights.
