CruiseWorld a learning event

Attendees at this year's CruiseWorld, to be held Nov. 9 through 11 in Fort Lauderdale, can earn industry certifications and credits during the Nov. 9 workshop programs.

Travel advisers at this year's event can earn 20 CLIA credits, with two sessions offered.

Attendees also can earn the Hawaii Specialist certification and the Special Needs Certification, as well as participate in SPG Pro training, VAX training and the new Tourism Cares' "Good Travels Advisor" certification, plus get the first look at Fathom's Impact Travel Certification program.

In addition to certification programs, attendees will also be able to choose from 10 supplier workshops, including presentations from Avalon Waterways, CCRA, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau, Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line, Exclusive Group Travel, Israel Ministry of Tourism, Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection, the Hawaiian Islands and a selection of U.S. travel suppliers in a Selling the USA session.

CruiseWorld will take place at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center and will include three days of jam-packed general sessions and more than 30 breakout sessions covering every segment of the leisure travel space.

Ship inspections are scheduled for Nov. 8, 12 and 13 in Fort Lauderdale and Miami, bookending the conference.

This year attendees will also be helping CruiseWorld and Royal Caribbean International make history:  Royal Caribbean is welcoming CruiseWorld travel agent attendees onboard the Harmony of the Seas to a private Viewing Launch Party when the Harmony, the world's largest cruise ship, is officially named in a ceremony on Nov. 11.

Categories for supplier participation, with more than 150 companies represented, include airlines, attractions, business tools, cruises, destinations, hotels and resorts, professional services, tours/vacation packages and a variety of destinations.

The one-day Exhibitor Showcase will be held on Thursday, Nov. 10. Suppliers interested in joining the Exhibitor Showcase should contact Emmy Morales at [email protected].
