The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center in Portage has completed work on its new Bison Hall facility.

The 6,000-square-foot building houses the nonprofit's education programs and includes classroom, office and event space. Daily animal presentations will be held in Bison hall during the summer season. Groups can hold receptions, meetings and special gatherings in the new venue, as well.

More than 200,000 people visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center annually to learn about the organization's conservation and research. Staff members care for injured and orphaned animals in habitats spread across more than 200 acres.
