As part of the massive redevelopment of downtown Tampa and the mixed-use riverfront property known as Water Street Tampa, a new outdoor food hall, biergarten and creative space known as Sparkman Wharf has been announced to open in October.
The dining area will be located under large shade trees and will feature 10 of Tampa's best chefs and restaurateurs. Each dining concept will be housed in a repurposed shipping container and will be adorned with murals by local art and design firm Pep Rally.
Current dining partners include: java roaster Foundation Coffee, artisan ice-pop maker Whatever Pops, a taqueria concept by chef Ferrell Alvarez called Gallito, Detroit-style square pizza at The Corners Pizza, tapas restaurant Montados, Flock & Stock restaurant by local restaurateur Dave Burton, Boat Run Oyster Company featuring sustainably raised oysters and other seafood, and French-Vietnamese fusion boite BT-In-A-Box.
Fermented Reality, the biergarten concept at Sparkman Wharf, will feature over 30 taps with an emphasis on Florida craft beer. It will also feature wine, iced tea and natural craft sodas. A 3,000-foot bar under a shady overhang will provide seating adjacent to the dining collection and biergarten.
Sparkman Wharf has also partnered with the Gasparilla Music Festival to be used as a bandstage during the event. On the lawn, a 17-foot LED screen will showcase sports games, movies and other programming.
