Art and design are at the forefront of the new 84-room Hyatt Place Sandestin at Grand Boulevard,  which opened its doors last month. The hotel features local artists' works throughout the entire property, including the lobby bar and breakfast area and hallways as well as in each of the guestrooms.

Hotel operator Howard Hospitality commissioned works from such locals as glass artist Victoria Garley, painter Amy Laurae and Velia Lala, South Walton's 2017 Sculptor of the Year. Alejandra Vega, a local artist who specializes in pointillism, created a custom map of South Walton for the lobby, highlighting local wildlife and scenery in ink and watercolor.

The Hyatt Place Sandestin at Grand Boulevard sits between Miramar Beach and Topsail Hill Preserve State Park and just 15 minutes from Henderson Beach State Park.
