City to
host baseball meetings
In a sports first
for Las Vegas, the city was selected to host Major League
Baseball's annual winter meetings in December
2008.
The event
attracts approximately 4,000 people including minor- and
major-league executives and representatives from companies
exhibiting at the meeting's baseball trade show.
The news comes on
the heels of the announcement that Las Vegas will be the first city
without a National Basketball Association
