Tickets are on sale for the 11th annual Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational golf tournament, which is returning to Las Vegas for the second consecutive year March 29 to April 1. The tournament will be played at Shadow Creek Golf Course and is being hosted by the Aria resort-casino at Shadow Creek.
“We loved opening Shadow Creek to the public for the first time earlier this year for this spectacular tournament and very much look forward to welcoming back Michael, his fans and his celebrity guests," Aria President and COO Bill McBeath said in a statement. "Most importantly, we are honored to be a part of an event that raises money for a variety of important charitable organizations.”
Since its inception in 2001, the tournament has raised nearly $6 million for charities, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Nevada Cancer Institute, the James R. Jordan Foundation and Cats Care, the charity arm of the National Basketball Association's Charlotte Bobcats (the franchise owned by Jordan).
Celebrities and athletes joining Jordan at this year's tournament will include Drew Brees, Roger Clemens, Larry David, Julius Erving, Jamie Foxx, Wayne Gretzky, Ken Griffey Jr., Brett Hull, Toby Keith, Spike Lee, Mario Lemieux and Mike Piazza.
The tournament is broken down into two segments. The first segment, played on March 29 and 30, pairs each celebrity with amateur players. The second, on March 31 and April 1, is a 36-hole, celebrity-only event.
A daily general admission pass is $30 and weekly general admission is $100. A daily VIP pass costs $150 and a weekly VIP pass is $500. VIP spectators will have access to a private, open-air hospitality complex overlooking the 18th hole.
Discounted tickets are available for military service members and seniors age 65 and older with valid ID. Children age 16 years and younger are admitted free when accompanied by a general admission ticketed adult (up to two children per paid adult).
