AmaWaterways appointed two new senior executives as the company said it is entering its next phase of growth.
The new hires come as AmaWaterways begins a new chapter after chairman Rudi Schreiner stepped down as CEO on July 1. Catherine Powell is now at the helm.

The river cruise line named Angel Christopher Gomez senior vice president of global consumer sales and service. Sezin Aksoy was named senior vice president of revenue management, insights and analytics. Both are newly created positions, AmaWaterways said.
Powell praised Gomez and Aksoy's hirings, saying they both are "passionate, purpose-driven leaders whose talents will help us elevate the guest experience and make more data-informed decisions that support our long-term vision."
Gomez joins AmaWaterways with nearly 20 years of leadership experience in travel and hospitality. He most recently served as associate vice president at Celebrity Cruises. He will oversee the global consumer sales, service and reservations operations to improve guest and travel advisor experience.

He said he was honored to join a company "with purpose, heart and a deep commitment to its guests and travel partners."

Aksoy has more than 20 years of leadership experience in the travel, sports and entertainment industries, where she drove strategy, revenue optimization and analytics. She most recently worked at ticketing platform AXS where she was the senior vice president of global data strategy and analytics. She started her career at American Airlines in revenue management and corporate sales. She is expected to strengthen analytic capabilities and revenue strategies.
