After more than a year of hearing about AmaWaterways new mega ship, the AmaMagna, the company this week gives a first-hand look at its innovative new design, with a 3-D video rendering.
The two-minute video gives an almost real life look at the nearly-finished product, including the pop-up elevator that AmaWaterways' president and co-owner Rudi Schreiner designed to offer the first-ever lift access to a river cruise ship's sun deck. It also showcases the ship's retractable windows and its fold-down water sports and leisure platform, which also serves as storage for a Sundowner boat, used for off-ship excursions.
At twice the width of most river ships, the Ama Magna will be the largest ship to cruise European rivers when it debuts on the Danube in May.
