AmaWaterways plans to add one river cruise ship to its European fleet in 2018, the 158-passenger AmaLea.

The new vessel will be the sister ship to the AmaKristina, which is launching in 2017, and will bring to 19 the number of ships in AmaWaterways' European fleet. The AmaLea will sail the Danube River as well as Holland/Belgium cruises in the spring.

In line with AmaWaterways' newest generation of ships, which are being built to better accommodate larger groups traveling together, it will feature connecting staterooms and triple accommodations. Many of the staterooms on the two upper decks will have the company's twin-balconies concept (a French balcony adjacent to a step-out balcony).

The public areas will include a swimming pool with a swim-up bar and an intimate Chef's Table specialty restaurant.
