Avalon Waterways will return to Egypt next year with a 10-day itinerary that includes the highlights of Cairo and a luxury cruise along the Nile on the 120-passenger Farah.

"We are thrilled to return to Egypt and the Nile River with this once-in-a-lifetime vacation," Avalon managing director Pam Hoffee said in a statement.

Avalon last offered Egypt itineraries in 2016.

With prices starting at $3,281, the Taste of Egypt itinerary visits the Pyramids and Sphinx in Giza; the Ramses II and Alabaster Sphinx in Memphis as well as Cairo’s oldest church -- the Hanging Church -- and Tutankhamun’s Tomb in the Egyptian Museum.

Along the Nile, travelers will visit the Luxor Temple; Avenue of Sphinxes; the massive Karnak Temple Complex, including the Temple of Amun-Ra; the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens; the Temple of Kom Ombo (an unusual double temple); and the Temple of Isis.
