Crystal Cruises is dropping its first river ship, the Crystal Mozart, from its European fleet next year.

Crystal said the Mozart will be transferred to parent company Genting Hong Kong for use on a venture to be announced later.

The all-suite Crystal Mozart launched in 2016. A former Peter Deilmann vessel, the 158-passenger, extra-wide river cruise ship underwent an extensive redesign and was relaunched on the Danube River.

Since then, the company has launched four identical newbuilds: Crystal Bach, Crystal Debussy, Crystal Mahler and Crystal Ravel.

Crystal guests booked on the Mozart's 2020 sailings will be accommodated on similar Danube itineraries on the Crystal Mahler or Crystal Ravel.
